Matthew Tkachuk's Mysterious Injury Gives Chris Kreider An Opportunity

Chris Kreider is set to make his 4 Nations Face-Off debut on Monday night with Matthew Tkachuk out with an unidentified injury.
Kreider served as a healthy scratch for Team USA over their first two games of the tournament.
Tkachuk didn’t play for a large part of the third period during Saturday night’s game against Team Canada while not taking part in practice this morning.
The Americans are set to take on Team Sweden tonight with their spot in the 4 Nations Face-Off already secured.
Even though the stakes are not particularly high on Monday night, the game will be an opportunity for Kreider to prove his worth with a spot in the lineup for the 4 Nations Face-Off championship potentially on the line.
The 33-year-old forward has recorded 16 goals, four assists and 20 points in 47 games for the Rangers this season.
