Justin Theroux and Nicole Brydon Bloom's Destination Wedding: Stilt-Walkers, Mariachi Band and Swimming Mermaids

Justin Theroux and Nicole Brydon Bloom's wedding was one to remember.

The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in February 2023, tied the knot over the weekend in Hotel Esencia in Xpu Há, Mexico, according to Vogue. PEOPLE exclusively reported their engagement in August 2024.

Brydon Bloom, 30, told Vogue that the wedding was held at the hotel because she and her now-husband, 53, had previously visited in February 2024 and they wanted their friends to "have a taste of our dream weekend in the Mayan Riviera paradise."

Molly Middleton and Maria Seremetis of Metier Events helped Theroux and Brydon Bloom host a wedding weekend that began with a bonfire on the beach on Thursday. This was followed by a rehearsal dinner and welcome party on Friday that included a performance from local musicians, The Cubanismos, and stilt-walkers.

When the special day came on Saturday, Theroux and Brydon Bloom were supposed to get married "just off the beach," but strong winds caused them to hold the ceremony at a "tucked away cove."

"The ocean was still visible but we were protected under a canopy of palm trees," Brydon Bloom said.

Brydon Bloom's stepfather walked her down a flower-lined aisle as her sister sang a cover of "Moon River." Her look was an ivory dress designed by Victoria Beckham, which Brydon Bloom said was exactly what she was looking for.

“The dress was perfect—elegant and timeless while also youthful and just a little sexy," said Brydon Bloom, who paired the look with custom Manolo Blahnik sandals. Theroux wore a Ralph Lauren suit.

According to Vogue, after saying "I do," the couple took 10 minutes to themselves before going to a cocktail hour.

At the reception, the couple was serenaded with two songs from their close friend Eliot Sumner. Nicole's stepfather, sisters and Justin's best men gave a speech.

The speeches were followed by a performance from a mariachi band and the couple then shared a first dance to “I’ve Told Every Little Star,” by Linda Scott.

“We danced for three hours straight with all our guests beneath a canopy of disco balls,” said Brydon Bloom, who noted that her 93-year-old grandma was the "life of the party." Guests in attendance included Paul Rudd, Ben Stiller, and Jimmy Kimmel.

Later in the night, the newlyweds and a few guests went to a speakeasy at a hotel.

“It was rowdy with great music—and Patrick, our officiant, just kept yelling ' This is the best night of my life!' A few mermaids ended up swimming in the pool above. It was the perfect celebratory way to end a fabulous weekend!" said the new bride.

As for Theroux's favorite part, he shared that hearing his wife's vows was "incredibly touching."
